Sony is known for making sound equipment and their SRS-XB01 definitely lives up to that standard.

The SRS-XB01 holds the record for the cheapest price out of all Sony speakers for only $35. It has many features, sounds heavenly, and the looks fantastic. Sony did not cheap out on this speaker even though it is relatively less expensive.

Sound Quality

Being able to fill a room while projecting very well and remaining clear is something the SRS-XB01 can do no problem. But not being the best at producing a strong bass, it obviously can't be compared to bigger speakers. The bass was good for most of the time when listening to it but not as strong as some other speakers. The tiny speaker can do its job great but when at blaring volumes, it can lose some of the good quality audio. The sound quality doesn't exceed my expectations but definitely meets them with an awesome sound. When speaking about the volume it can produce, it is not a problem for smaller and medium rooms but it isn't the best for big places especially outside.

Build/Design

One of the most loving features is the shape and clean, simple design of the speaker making it very professional. The weight of the speaker and the material texture makes it not feel cheap at all. This small speaker from Sony comes in black, white, and red. Having a durable shell will protect it from breakage and buttons are coated with rubber giving a nice feel. It's shape is very love-able and will fit almost anywhere so you can bring it practically anywhere.

Features

The SRS-XB01 has many features including being water resistant which is an impressive upgrade for a mini speaker. This means that if it starts raining, you can still play your music without worrying about water damage. What stands out is that it also offers hands free calling and picking up as it has a built in microphone. Buttons on the top allow picking up and ending calls, volume controls, and turning it on/off. The SRS-XB01 is sadly only Bluetooth and does not have WiFi so won't be able to connect to other speakers to be used for multi rooms. It also comes with a handy cable so you can hang or tie it to something.

Battery

The battery life is expected for the size at around 6 hours of playing music. It is charged by a USB port hidden under a rubber gasket and charges up fast because of its size. Not intended for super long uses but great for everything else.

Sony has continued its reputation of excellent quality products with the SRS-XB01 speaker. If you want something that will last and isn't some cheap crap, your solution is the SRS-XB01. Great buy and you will not be unsatisfied with your purchase.
