Great for the outdoors, has a rugged design, and a true adventurers friend! This is the JBL Charge 4.

The Charge 4 has crazy features like being able to be submerged in water completely and still be playing your quality sound. The audio is superb and the Charge 4 is made for the outdoors even though it also works well inside as well.

Sound Quality

The Charge 4 has a sound that would be described like beautiful roaring lion. The sound produced is strong, powerful, and wants to be heard. It sounds good and can play songs well and with great precision. This speaker was designed to be something you can use outdoors as it can play excellently outside. Even if there is wind and lots of people talking, the music can still be heard and the Charge 4 won't get drowned out without a fight. When talking about the bass produced by the speaker, it can create a nice bass but doesn't go above and beyond my expectations. The bass is loud and prominent enough to be heard but some would say it could not create as big of a sound. At max volume, the audio is very powerful but the bass gets slightly quieter. The Charge 4 is the newest generation Charge and even though the Charge 3 did very well, the Charge 4 was definitely upgraded and given some better modifications.

Build/Design

The Charge 4 is shaped like cylinder and comes in many different colors, including black, turquoise, and gold. The Charge 4 lays on its side rather than standing upright meaning that how you position the speaker might affect the listening experience. This mid-sized speaker is made to be tough and used for outdoors and even though it isn't a 360 speaker, it has a good range. Many other Bluetooth speakers also cannot handle the same rough treatment the Charge 4 can.

Features

The Charge 4 has a really under looked but super useful feature of being fully waterproof, not just water resistant. It can handle being underwater for up to 30 minutes! As most speakers can only be water resistant, you could leave this in a river and it would be still playing your favorite tune. When talking about waterproof speakers, the Charge 4 can also handle salt or chlorinated water which is quite rare. The Charge 4 can also double as a rechargeable battery pack as long as it can be charged through USB. Though it doesn't have WiFi connection, it has the capability to connect up to 100 speakers and play the same song simultaneously.

Battery

The battery life of the Charge 4 is around 20 hours of music and the an increase of battery life compared to the Charge 3 from 6000mAh to 7500mAh. This battery life is really solid and does not run out very fast. It's battery life wouldn't be considered the best, but has a lengthy enough battery life for most uses without running out of battery.

I am overall very impressed by the Charge 4 and would recommend as it isn't too expensive either. For someone outdoorsy, this is probably one of your best options.
